Irene TOLUIrene discovered the practice of yoga in 2010, whilst studying Marine Biology at university. Since noticing the profoundly beneficial effects it had on her everyday life, she has continued to practise with enthusiasm and passion.
Her teaching journey began somewhat unexpectedly, with a group of encouraging friends asking her to guide their practice together. Those experiences had made her realise that teaching can be a natural and joyful way to share knowledge. In 2019, she attended a teacher training course, in Lisbon, with AETO-Associação Europeia de Terapias Orientais, and she is now a registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200). She is keen to guide and assist her students, and believes we are all on the same path of human evolution, continuingly learning from each other, and using yoga as the perfect tool to enjoy lives filled with happiness, fulfilment and gratitude. francisca sottomayorFrancisca did a two years yoga course (TT) at Casa Ganapati, which is a yoga studio that offers a comprehensive approach to yoga, following the Advaita Vedanta tradition. The school’s focus of practice is what’s commonly referred to as hatha yoga, alongside astānga yoga.
As a Certified Yoga Teacher Francisca went through a rigorous two year program, including 500h+ of guided practice and teachings, over 20 weekends and two weeklong retreats. During this period she explored all the elements required for a complete approach to yoga. This included attending to one’s own asana, prānāyāma, and meditation practice, alongside contents on how to structure classes and adjust them to suit the individual needs of students. The training also included contents on anatomy and physiology of movement, alongside an overview of Ayurveda, the traditional Indian approach to medicine. A significant part of her training also explored teachings and contemplations on Advaita Vedanta, a Hindu non-dual path of practice. In June 2023, she finished a 10 month course: "Deepening in Yoga" with Simão Monteiro, from the Yoga Mandir school. Here she approached āsana, the postures, in detail, as well as prānāyāma and meditation. The classes that Francisca offers are for all levels of practitioners, from beginners to more experienced yogis. You'll dive in a hatha yoga class that goes from an articular routine, vinyasa, standing and floor asanas (postures). The sequence addresses articular work, strength, stretching, balance and correct posture exercises, all connected through breath. The classes are divided by a small meditation, asana and relaxation and/ or pranayama during 90 minutes. Book your class with Francisca via email/ tel: [email protected] / (00351) 918 874 841 |

hÉloÏse amilcarHéloïse's journey into spirituality began in her childhood. Originally from Paris, she spent 7 years in the UK before deciding to relocate to Lisbon in search of a new beginning. Immersed in the (re)discovery of herself, she began writing books on spirituality and well-being, coinciding with the introduction of yoga and its ancient practices into her life. A deep thirst for knowledge drove her to explore various yoga disciplines, including Hatha, Elemental Vinyasa, Yin, and Kundalini. However, it was the practice of Kundalini Yoga that resonated most deeply with her, as it completely transformed her life.
In her Kundalini practice, Héloïse passionately integrates the exploration of chakras, considering them a fascinating system for reading and understanding ourselves. For her, Kundalini Yoga is not just a practice; it's a playful and enjoyable way to challenge oneself, a gateway to meditation. In her eyes, Kundalini offers a unique and lighthearted approach to self-discovery and spiritual growth. Find out more about Héloïse on Instagram @heloiseamilcar and https://www.heloiseamilcar.com/ |
